Chandigarh, Dec. 11 -- Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) is set to roll out a monthly billing cycle for all domestic and non-residential consumers effective from January, 2026, replacing the current bimonthly system. At present, only around 5,000 high-tension, industrial, commercial, public lighting, bulk supply and agriculture power consumers out of the city's total 2.35 lakh electricity consumers receive bills every month. The transition to monthly billing is being implemented as per the directions of the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC).
