Rudrapur, May 29 -- The special court of NDPS Act sentenced a 32-year-old man with life imprisonment in Pithoragarh on Wednesday. Police had recovered 2.5 kg charas (Cannabis) from him. He was also slapped with a fine of Rs.1.5-lakh. Pramod Pant, government counsel in Pithoragarh district, said, "Police had recovered charas from a shopkeeper in Munsyari four years ago. The special court of NDPS Act awarded him life imprisonment on Wednesday." Police raided the shop on tip-off and recovered 2.5 kg of charas.
