Chandigarh, Dec. 14 -- The Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) organised the fourth and final National Lok Adalat of 2025 across all districts andsub-divisions of Haryana onSaturday. Jagdeep Singh, district and sessions judge-cum-member secretary, HALSA, monitored the proceedings across the state through video conferencing. The event, along with pre-Lok Adalat sittings, resulted in a disposal of over 5 lakh cases. A total of 192 benches were constituted across various courts to take up both pre-litigation and pending cases. It saw a heartening outcome through mediation at the National Lok Adalat in Gurugram, where a husband and wife were reunited after over 18 years of separation. The couple was married in 2001 but separated in 2008. Similarly, a five-year-old guardianship dispute relating to the custody of a minor was amicably settled by the family court, Kurukshetra. It covered a wide range of cases, including civil disputes, matrimonial matters, motor accident claims (MACT), bank recovery suits, cheque bounce cases (Section 138 NI Act), compoundable criminal offences, and matters before Permanent Lok Adalats (Public Utility Services).htc...
