Hoshiarpur, Aug. 14 -- As many as 15 councilors of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) refused to attend the house meeting of the Hoshiarpur municipal council (MC), scheduled for Wednesday, raising objections on the meeting's agenda. The councilors signed a letter, demanding cancellation of the proposed meeting but before they could submit it to the commissioner, an AAP MLA and the mayor got a whiff of the development following which a notice of postponement of the meeting was circulated, said a councillor, wishing not to be named. The councillor further said that they expressed disagreement with a proposed solid waste management plan and also opposed privatisation of a few civic services. They alleged that the meeting agenda was prepared "without holding discussions" with the elected representatives. Councillors having allegiance with the Congress and the BJP also opposed MC's proposals....
