Congress releases manifesto for May 10 civic body elections
Chandigarh, April 27 -- Promising development, accountability and public welfare, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) on Sunday released the party's election manifesto for the upcoming May 10 municipal elections.
The manifesto, jointly unveiled by HPCC president Rao Narendra Singh and former Haryana chief minister and leader of opposition (LoP) Bhupinder Singh Hooda, also promises transparent administration, expansion of public amenities and a corruption-free system.
The HPCC president said that Congress' commitment is clear as the party will ensure development in every ward.
Singh said that this manifesto is not merely a document of promises, but a roadmap reflecting the aspirations of the people.
Hooda said that this manifesto has been prepared keeping in mind the problems, needs and facilities required by the common people.
"Under BJP rule, the condition of cities and municipal bodies has gone from bad to worse. People are suffering due to the lack of basic amenities and corruption has reached its peak," Hooda alleged.
"Our resolve is that when Congress candidates win, they will work according to this manifesto to fulfil all promises and take concrete steps to make cities modern, well-equipped, and beautiful," said the former CM....
