Col Gopi Singh shines at 10th AGS golf c'ship
Panchkula, Nov. 25 -- The 10th edition of the Amateur Golfers Society (AGS) Golf Tournament witnessed brilliant performances at Panchkula Golf Club, with Col Gopi Singh emerging as the standout golfer of the event.
In the 0-9 handicap category, Col Singh clinched the top position with an impressive score of 73, while JS Jaidka secured the runner-up spot with a close 74.
The 10-15 handicap division saw Dr Rajiv Bhalla take the winner's title with a score of 73, narrowly edging out Dr Anil Rattan Verma, who finished runner-up at 74.
In the 16 and Above handicap category, Anish Arora claimed the top honour with a score of 73, followed by Sunil Issar, who registered a respectable 74 to finish second.
The tournament also featured a series of exciting sub-competitions.
In the 'Longest Drive' challenge, Col Singh dominated again with a 260-yard shot, while Brig HPS Bedi secured the runner-up position with a 240-yard drive.
The 'Straight Drive' title went to Col NK Mehta, whose shot landed just two inches from the centreline. SK Goel was runner-up with his drive finishing seven inches away.
In the 'Nearest to Pin' contest, GK Garg won with a superb shot landing 1 foot 4 inches from the hole. Col Gopi Singh placed second with a shot just 10 feet away....
