Chandigarh, Aug. 12 -- Amid the India Meteorological Department's forecast for heavy rain for two days, 15.2 mm showers lashed the city on Monday. More rain is likely on Tuesday due to an active Western Disturbance and monsoon system. Thereon, chances of light rain will continue and rain activity is likely to again pick up from Thursday onwards. Around 3.2 mm rain was recorded overnight while 12 mm rain was recorded later in the evening on Monday. Because of the overcast conditions, the maximum temperature fell from 35degC on Sunday to 30.4degC on Monday, 3.1 degrees below normal and lowest so far this month.
