Chandigarh, Sept. 12 -- Following allegations ofirregularities inawarding tender to the pollution check centre at the Sector 9petrol pump, the Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation Limited (CITCO) withdrew the tender on Wednesday.

The move comes after a Right to Information (RTI) plea was moved by Hind Majdur Sabha vice-president and CITCO Union chairman Kashmir Chand on September 4.

Chand said CITCO selection committee had awarded tender to the contractor even when his was not the highest bid, which was a violation of the e-tender norms.

He said CITCO management was favouring the contractor even as it was once blacklisted for three years.

"Now that I have questioned this, they have withdrawn the tender," he said.
