New Delhi, June 22 -- The Centre and Karnataka have decided to jointly compensate mango growers of the state after a crash in prices, following a meeting via video-conferencing between Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his state counterpart N Chaluvaraya Swamy on Saturday, officials said. The Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government sought the Centre's aid after prices for tomato and the Totapuri variety of mango had plunged by nearly half the average market rate.
