Chandigarh, July 31 -- A constable with the Chandigarh Traffic Police was suspended for taking Rs.500 bribe from a car driver at the Sector 45/46/49/50 intersection on Tuesday. A departmental inquiry has also been marked against constable Parvin, said police. The car driver, a resident of Panchkula, who was stopped by the constable for driving on the wrong side of the road, reportedly filmed the constable while taking a note of Rs.500. In the video, the cop is seen saying that he is issuing a slip for a Rs.500 challan. However, in Chandigarh, all challans are issued online and there is no system of a slip.HTC In a crackdown against storage of banned plastic, the Chandigarh MC seized a massive 450kg of banned plastic bags from two houses in Sector 56.
