Canadian found guilty of murdering UP student in 2022
Toronto, April 22 -- A Toronto resident has been found guilty of murdering two persons in April 2022, including a 21-year-old from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. A verdict delivered by Ontario Superior Court Justice Jane Kelly on Monday mentioned that accused Richard Jonathan Edwin had been found guilty of the first-degree murder.
He was arrested and charged by the Toronto police in April 2022 in relation with the killings of Kartik Vasudev and Elijah Eleazar Mahepath.

He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police had said in a release. The incident was deemed a homicide. Vasudev of Ghaziabad was a first-semester marketing management student at Seneca College. Two days later (April 9) at approximately 7 pm, police said the accused allegedly approached second victim Mahepath who was walking along a street in downtown Toronto and discharged multiple rounds striking the victim. Again, he fled the scene on foot.
Days later, the Toronto police arrested Edwin and charged him with the two murders. Edwin, then 40 and a resident of Toronto, was taken into custody....
