Jalandhar, Oct. 8 -- Rajya Sabha member Balbir Singh Seechewal has written to the Union ministry of external affairs (MEA) to bring back the mortal remains of the four Punjabi youths, who were killed in a car-truck collision in Italy on October 5. Three of the deceased - Harvinder Singh of Ghorawahi village, Surjit Singh of Meda village and Manor Kumar of Adampur - were from Jalandhar while the fourth one - Jaskaran Singh - hailed from Rupnagar. According to the Rajya Sabha member, family members of Harvinder Singh and Surjit Singh contacted him for help. Surjit's brother Mukhtiar Singh said he had gone to Italy in December 2024. "Our family owns only three acres of land, which he and his two brothers cultivated together for livelihood. Due to their limited income, Surjit earlier went to Dubai but failed to secure employment. So, he moved to Italy nine months ago," Mukhtiar said. Harvinder's brother said the family had taken a loan of Rs.4.5 lakh to send him abroad to overcome poverty....
