Hyderabad, Nov. 16 -- An Andhra Pradesh police officer, a key witness in the theft of cash offerings at the renowned Tirumala temple in Tirupati district, has been found dead, with police suspecting it to be a case of murder, officers aware of the matter said on Saturday.

Pedda jeeyar Swamy mutt is a Hindu religious institution attached to the Tirumala temple.
Police initially suspected Satish's death to be a case of suicide. However, post-mortem examination at Anantapur government hospital revealed a deep, blunt-force injury to the back of the head, consistent with a targeted assault, officials said.
