Blue Bird High School holds world red cross day celebrations
PANCHKULA, May 11 -- In an effort to foster empathy and social responsibility, the students of Blue Bird High School, Panchkula, commemorated World Red Cross Day on Friday, highlighting the importance of the humanitarian work performed by the Indian Red Cross Society/Red Cross Movement'
The celebration began with a special morning assembly where students discussed the historical significance of Henry Dunant and the humanitarian motto of the Red Cross-- "Kindness saves lives".
The school principal, Vandna said that it is vital to teach the young generation the value of life and health. "By understanding the principles of the Red Cross, our students are learning to be responsible citizens who are prepared to help others in times of need," she added.
The event concluded with a pledge taken by the students to support humanitarian causes and to be "human-kind" in their daily lives, following this year's theme of "Keeping Humanity Alive"....
