Panchkula, July 7 -- To tackle plastic waste pollution from every house and the surrounding areas and using that trash creatively for school beautification, the Interact Club "Prayas ek koshish" of Blue Bird High School, Sector 16, launched its monthly environmental initiative, "Trash to Treasure," on July 4, 2025. The first drive was successfully got executed with the students of all the classes. This initiative will encourage students to practice sustainability and to have a cleaner environment by bringing plastic bottles filled with used plastic bags to school. To foster environmental responsibility and engage the entire student body, the school has instituted this activity as a recurring activity to be held on the 7th of every month. As an incentive to promote participation, each student will receive one eco-friendly pencil in exchange for every plastic-filled bottle donated by them. This programme aims to involve every student during the whole year round in practical waste reduction and being rewarded for their contribution to a greener school community. The main objective of this initiative is to prevent landfill accumulation and transform waste into decorative items. Students participated in this waste management activity and artistic recycling.
