BJP's Chugh accuses AAP of pushing Punjab into 'economic emergency'
Ludhiana, Dec. 4 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday accused the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government of pushing Punjab into an economic emergency because of 'poor financial management.'
"The state's deteriorating financial situation has stalled development works and led to delays in salary payments. While crores are being spent on false publicity, nothing is being done for public welfare or infrastructure," he said, alleging that the state exchequer is being used to serve "Mann's mentors in Delhi."
Citing media reports, he said Punjab's capital expenditure in the first half of the 2025-26 financial year has fallen by 36%. "This shows the government has failed on all fronts and is more focused on political theatrics than governance," he added.
Chugh also accused the AAP government of misusing and diverting the state disaster relief fund (SDRF) and said that the issue is serious enough to require an immediate CBI investigation. He claimed the state government has been misleading people and trying to create anti-Centre sentiments....
