BJP names 9 for RS Polls, ex-MPSanjay Bhatia is party pick from Haryana
New Delhi/Chandigarh, March 4 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced nine candidates for the 2026 biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha across six states, setting the stage for the high-stakes polls later this month. From Bihar, where five seats are falling vacant, the BJP nominated party chief Nitin Nabin, and Shivesh Kumar.
The party has nominated its former MP from Karnal, Sanjay Bhatia, from Haryana. In 2024, Bhatia, who was the sitting Karnal MP, made way for former CM Manohar Lal Khattar --- fielded by the party from the parliamentary seat.Bhatia is considered close to Khattar.
