BJP leader Raju seeks FIR for sacrilege
Amritsar, May 10 -- Senior BJP leader and former IAS officer Jagmohan Singh Raju has filed a complaint, seeking registration of an FIR under the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, in connection with alleged acts of sacrilege and damage caused to saroops/birs of the Guru Granth Sahib during the events of June 1984 at Golden Temple.
The complaint also invokes provisions relating to criminal conspiracy under BNS, besides other applicable penal provisions, and calls for an independent investigation. Calling the issue one of profound religious and historical significance, Raju urged commissioner of police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar to register an FIR Bhullar was not available for a comment.HTC...
