PATNA, Dec. 3 -- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prem Kumar was on Tuesday unanimously elected Speaker of the Bihar assembly through voice vote. Chief minister Nitish Kumar and leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav accompanied Kumar to the dais where he occupied the Speaker's Chair. A nine-term MLA from Gayaji continuously since 1990, Prem Kumar, 70, is an experienced leader having served in various capacities, including as minister and leader of the Opposition.
