Mohali, Aug. 28 -- Three men attacked and robbed a 38-year-old liquor shop owner near the Sector 78-79 vegetable market around 12 pm on Monday. Complainant Hitesh Naval said he was driving back home when a vehicle, bearing registration number CH01AL6556, reversed and hit his car. When he told the driver to be careful, the latter started arguing with him and suddenly struck him in the eye. Later, the accused called two associates and all of them beat him up and snatched his silver chain, cash and phone. When Naval shouted for help, the men fled. A case under Section 304 (theft), 115(2) (receiving stolen property), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (common intention) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered. A Kansal resident has been arrested for robbing a man of Rs.5,000 at knifepoint in Manimajra on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Gaurav. The accused was nabbed with the help of CCTVs.
