Bhavan Vidyalaya hosts event on substance abuse prevention
Panchkula, Nov. 5 -- Under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the ministry of home affairs, government of India, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, organised an awareness programme on the prevention of substance abuse in the school auditorium. The initiative was a part of a nationwide campaign aimed at sensitising students and educators towards the growing menace of substance misuse and promoting collective responsibility in fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment.
The event was graced by dignitaries including Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Regional Officer, CBSE, Panchkula, and Sujeet Kumar Singh, superintendent, NCB, whose presence elevated the stature and purpose of the occasion. Both dignitaries addressed the gathering, underlining the pivotal role of schools in fostering awareness, resilience, and informed decision-making among students to combat the growing threat of drug abuse and substance dependence.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising enlightenment, knowledge, and awareness, followed by a formal welcome address by the principal Gulshan Kaur. In her address ,she warmly welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude to CBSE and NCB for their continued efforts in initiating such awareness programmes.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the vice principal, Sonia Pabby, who expressed appreciation to the dignitaries and partner organisations for their valuable guidance and encouragement. She extended gratitude to all participating schools for their active involvement.
