Chandigarh, Jan. 2 -- St Joseph's School, through its School Diplomacy Club, marked a significant stride in global education by initiating an international collaboration with Lyceum No 188, Kazan, in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The partnership was inaugurated through a virtual cultural exchange, bringing together students from both institutions in a shared space of dialogue and learning. The session unfolded as a thoughtful exchange of traditions and perspectives. Students from St Joseph's School presented the richness of Indian culture through a pulsating Bhangra performance and a transcendent devotional Hindi song, reflecting the nation's cultural diversity and spiritual ethos. The Josephians presented India's cultural odyssey through intricate rangoli designs and decorative diyas symbolising Diwali, alongside handcrafted Madhubani paintings inspired by Holi. The celebration culminated in a joyful Holi play with flowers and natural colours, offering their international peers a vivid, experiential glimpse into India's living traditions. Interactive conversations followed, as students from both countries shared insights into their daily lives, local climates and surrounding environments. Students of Lyceum No 188, Kazan offered an engaging introduction to their city, highlighting key landmarks, describing the region's intense winter climate and sharing customs associated with Christmas celebrations in Russia. The cultural dialogue nurtured curiosity, mutual respect and a deeper appreciation of global diversity among participants.
