Chandigarh, May 16 -- As temperatures hit the sizzling forties a Hisar based non-governmental organisation (NGO) Roti Bank will be providing purified reverse osmosis (RO)-treated cold water at 10 locations around the city.

Balvinder Nain, the founding chairman of the Roti Bank Trust said he decided to launch the Sheetal Jal Rehri (cold water cart) initiative after an old man asked for water after a meal at the Roti Bank and a girl fainted near a hospital because of dehydration.

At present two volunteers from the NGO are providing water to people at the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, and Anaj Mandi, Sector 26 from 7 am to 8 pm.
