Barnala soldier serving in Guwahati dies
Barnala, Nov. 3 -- The last rites of 26-year-old Sainik Lovely Gill, who died while on duty in Guwahati four days ago, were performed with government honours in his native village, Tapa Mandi, Barnala, on Sunday. Police officials said that he passed away due to a sudden illness.
He was serving with the 18 Sikh Light Regiment and was currently posted in Guwahati, Assam. His kin and former chairman of the market committee, Amarjit Singh Dhaliwal, appealed to both the central and Punjab government to provide financial compensation to the family members. HTC...
