Barnala: Two dead in high-speed collision
Barnala, Nov. 19 -- A fatal collision on the Tapa-Alike link road in Barnala on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left two others severely injured.
As per station house officer (SHO) Shareef Khan of the Tapa police station, the incident occurred when a high-speed Verna sedan, travelling from the direction of Tapa, crashed into a stationary Ritz car. One passenger in the Ritz died instantly at the scene. The second occupant of the stationary vehicle succumbed to his injuries duringtreatment at Tapa civil hospital.
The two occupants of the Verna car, identified as Sukhwinder Singh and Gurbinder Singh, residents of Rureke village, sustained severe injuries in the crash. They are currently undergoing treatment at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana.
During the subsequent investigation at the accident site, police have also discovered and seized poppy husk from the Verna car. An FIR has been registered against Sukhwinder and Gurbinder, with charges including relevant sections of the NDPS Act, specifically Section 15, alongside Sections 105, 281, and 3(5) of the BNS....
