Chandigarh, Sept. 28 -- The maximum temperature on Saturday rose to 36.9 degrees, the highest in the month so far. However, last year, the maximum temperature had gone up to 37.6degC on September 24. On Sunday as well, maximum temperature is expected to remain 36. There is no respite from heat as the Indian meteorological department has predicted clear sky with maximum temperature to remain between 34degC to 35degC to 31degC till Thursday. The minimum temperature will be between 23degC and 25degC. The month had started with heavy rain, recording 202.6 mm rain in the first six days which is more than the average September rain for Chandigarh i.e around 145.2 mm rain. The maximum temperature has gradually increased by 11 degrees from the month's start of 25.9 to 36.9 on Saturday. Last year continuous clear weather has led to increased temperature.
