Rohtak, March 31 -- A 53-year-old exemptee assistant sub-inspector (EASI) of Haryana Police, posted in the emergency response vehicle (ERV) wing at Kalanaur police station in Rohtak, allegedly shot himself dead with his service revolver outside the police station on Monday, police said. The incident occurred on Monday morning when the cop was outside the police station and he reportedly shot himself in the head. After hearing gunshots, his colleagues came outside and took him to Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), where he died during treatment, the police added. Kalanaur police station house officer (SHO) Satpal Singh said that the victim's body was sent to the mortuary for the post-mortem examination. He said that they are yet to ascertain reasons behind the suicide. The cop was earlier posted at Lakhan Majra police station. He along with his family was living in Rohtak. He belongs to Jhajjar district. The police have started a probe into the matter....
