Aryan reveals he didn't know who Abhay Deol was when he worked with him

ndian-origin actor Aryan Simhadri plays one of the main characters, Grover Underwood, in the series adaptation of the fantasy novel series Percy Jackson & The Olympians. As the show recently returned with its second season, Aryan talks about representing the South Asian community in the West.
"It means so much, but it's terrifying to think about. South Asians or Indians haven't had much representation on screen in the West. The fact that this is now starting to change, and I get to be a part of it, is ridiculous," he says.
The 19-year-old previously worked with actor Abhay Deol in the American film Spin (2021), but admits he was unaware of Abhay's popularity at the time. "I had no idea who he was. My parents were freaking out, telling me, 'You have no idea who you're talking to right now. You need to ask him for advice.' For me, he was just this really cool guy I got to work with."
When asked about future Bollywood plans, Aryan says, "I can't speak Hindi, but I would love to do a Tollywood film. I grew up watching (actors) Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, and their films. That's kind of why I fell in love with Percy Jackson, the book series, because the mythological aspect of it feels like Indian mythology."...
