Chandigarh, Jan. 11 -- Major Maan Singh Grewal of 1RR (Rashtriya Rifles), has been awarded the Sena medal for Gallantry for anti-terrorist operations carried out in Kashmir in May, 2024. He is an alumnus of St John's High School, Chandigarh, and was conferred the award on Saturday at the Investiture Ceremony of the Western Command of the Indian Army held in New Delhi. Singh displayed exceptional tactical acumen, sheer presence of mind and courage leading to neutralisation of one terrorist while he was posted in Kulgam in Kashmir. On noticing suspicious activity, Major Maan Singh cordoned the area and conducted a search operation along with a quick-reaction team, restricting the terrorist movement by opening fire, with utter disregard to personal safety under heavy enemy fire.
