Dehradun, Dec. 14 -- Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday said that Operation Sindoor demonstrated India's resolve by effectively synchronising diplomatic efforts with decisive military action. Addressing the 157th Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun, General Dwivedi said, "Operation Sindoor showcased India's resolve. We completed this challenge by synchronising diplomacy, deterrence and destructive application of force..." As many as 491 cadets were commissioned into the Indian Army as officers from the IMA. During the event, General Dwivedi reviewed the parade and congratulated the newly commissioned officers on successfully completing their training. Speaking to the officer cadets on the occasion, the COAS said that the profession of arms is far more than an occupation, it is a sacred calling that demands unflinching dedication, selfless service and, when required, the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation. Addressing the gathering, General Dwivedi said that the modern security environment was dynamic and spanned the military as well as societal and technological domains. Operation Sindoor was an apt demonstration of India's adaptability and resolve through its synchronisation of diplomatic effort with decisive military action. He lauded the IMA's illustrious legacy of producing visionary leaders and intrepid officers who have time and again upheld the highest traditions of courage and honour. He said the Indian Army continued to evolve rapidly through modernisation and innovation, and that the newly commissioned officers will play a pivotal role in this ongoing transformation. Apart from 491 Indian cadets, 34 foreign cadets from 14 friendly nations also passed out from the military institute The Sword of Honour and Gold Medal (First in Order of Merit) were awarded to Academy Cadet Adjutant Nishkal Dwivedi. The Silver Medal (Second in Order of Merit) was conferred on Battalion Under Officer Badal Yadav, while the Bronze Medal (Third in Order of Merit) went to Senior Under Officer Kamaljeet Singh. Officer Cadet Jadhav Sujeet Sampat was awarded the Silver Medal for securing first position in the Technical Graduate Course....
