Chandigarh, July 15 -- On the occasion of World Population Day, a nukkad natak was organised at AKSIPS-41 on by the 'Theatre for Theatre" group to raise awareness about the pressing issues of population explosion. Opening our eyes to the grim reality that every 12 years, another billion people are added to the global population and India's current population of 146 cr resulting on population explosion thereby creating alarming concerns, the street play vividly depicted the menace of overpopulation, shedding light on issues such as poverty, unemployment, lack of education, shortage of resources, and accommodation problems. The school staff , students and parents were deeply impacted by the powerful performance, which encouraged them to reflect on the challenges posed by an ever-growing population. The interactive and thought-provoking enactment emphasised the importance of sustainable development and the urgent need to secure the well-being of all individuals in society. The performance helped students recognise the critical challenge and inspired them to contribute towards building a sustainable future....
