Aim to turn P'kula into world-class city: Saini
Chandigarh, Nov. 21 -- Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini reaffirmed the government's priority of transforming Panchkula into a modern, well-planned model city with world-class urban amenities.
Presiding over a late-evening review meeting of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) on Thursday, the CM called for an integrated and fast-paced approach to upgrade civic infrastructure, improve cleanliness, and enhance the overall urban environment.
He specifically underlined the critical need for maintaining all city roads in excellent condition, directing officers to immediately repair damaged or worn-out stretches to ensure a high-quality, safe, and smooth road network. Additionally, he issued directives emphasising focused cleanliness in public spaces, parks, and along road corridors, further recommending the planting of diverse ornamental flowers to enhance the attractiveness of public areas.
During the meeting, PMDA chief executive officer KM Pandurang informed that administrative approval of Rs.173.48 crore has been granted for establishing a world-class shooting range sports complex in Sector 32, with formal processes nearing completion....
