Ludhiana, Oct. 29 -- A Ludhiana-based activist and religious figure has approached police after receiving threats regarding grenade and rocket launcher attacks at his house in Sarabha Nagar Extension. Gursimran Singh Mand, 50, who describes himself as the national president of the International Anti-Khalistani Terrorist Front, and associated with Niranjani Akhara, told the Sadar police that he and his family have been harassed since 2018. He said the central government had earlier granted him Y+ security. According to Mand, threats escalated after he recently filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking action against a Pakistan-based gangster, Shehzad Bhatti, by naming him as a terrorist. Within days, he received threats on his mobile and an Instagram account. He said he was threatened through messages with attacks on his house with grenades and rocket launchers besides abduction and killing of his family. He also said that he has received similar threats from other numbers and social media IDs. ASI Sukhwinder Singh from the Sadar police station said Sections 298, 296, 351(2)(3) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) were slapped on the unidentified accused....
