Patiala, Sept. 2 -- A day after AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra lashed out at his own government, the Punjab government on Monday withdrew his personal security. Surprisingly, the government also transferred station house officers (SHOs) of three police stations, along with in-charges of four police posts in his Sanour constituency. Both developments have already been confirmed by Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra to HT. Pathanmajra had criticised the Bhagwant Mann government's poor preparedness and accused water resources principal secretary Krishan Kumar of misguiding the CM for the present state of affairs. All SHOs of Sanour constituency were transferred and his Pathanmajra's personal security had been withdrawn in a bid to clip his wings, according to sources. They said the orders to "clip his wings" by transferring the SHOs of his constituency had come directly from the chief minister, who holds the home portfolio. After his outburst on Sunday, AAP MLA Pathanmajra had said that he was ready to face any consequences but appealed to Mann to remove Krishan Kumar from his post as he was directly responsible for the flood situation in Punjab. "If they (the party leadership) will suspend me, I'm ready. I'm ready to even go to jail, but I will stand strongly with the people of my constituency. The Ghaggar and Tangri rivers in Patiala district are overflowing. Their embankments have been breached at many places. People are abusing us (the AAP government). They are not letting us in their area. The Punjab CM is being misguided by bureaucrats," Pathanmajra said. "I know I'm not supposed to say all this as I'm an MLA from the party in power. But I'm fed up. I've written to the secretary to carry out dredging of these rivers and use the sand to strengthen the bundhs but to no avail. I appeal to the Punjab CM again to remove Krishan Kumar if he (the CM) wants to save Punjab," Pathanmajra said on Sunday. Reacting to the MLA's criticism of his government and the subsequent transfer of SHOs in his constituency, Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira posted on X, "Saam-Dam-Dhand-Bhed policy announced by Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia put into action in Punjab!" Pathanmajra is not the first MLA to speak against the government over poor preparedness for floods. Earlier, Zira MLA, Naresh Kataria, had slammed the government officials for not listening to him. The MLA had said that he had already conveyed his grievance to the CM. Despite repeated attempts, Krishan Kumar, secretary, water resources department, couldn't be contacted for comments. Repeated calls and messages to him remained unanswered....
