Chandigarh, Nov. 14 -- An 80-year-old woman lost her gold earring to a snatcher while heading for her daily yoga session near Laxmi Narayan Temple in Sector 44 on early Wednesday morning, said police. The victim, Vidyawati, a retired BSNL employee, was on her way to the temple around 5 am when the incident occurred. In her statement to the police, she said, "Like every day, I went for yoga at the Laxmi Narayan Temple. When I was walking from the park towards the temple, a young man suddenly came running from the T-point, snatched my gold earring from my right ear, and fled." The snatcher, described as being between 25 to 30 years old, was reportedly dressed in simple clothes and was on foot. Vidyawati said she could identify the man if brought before her. Following her complaint, a police team visited the victim's residence at Sector 44-C to verify the circumstances.
