Ludhiana, July 19 -- Eight individuals involved in multiple snatching and robbery cases across the city have been arrested, police said on Friday. The arrest also led to the recovery of 21 stolen mobile phones, five motorcycles, a silver chain, three iron blades, a toy pistol, a sharp-edged weapon and Rs.4,000. According to deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Rupinder Singh, the arrests are made in three separate cases registered at Sadar, Sahnewal and Division number 6 police stations where the accused mostly targeted lone commuters during late evening hours. Singh said the Sadar police arrested Lakhvir Singh alias Sukha, a resident of Lalton Kalan, and Kulwinder Singh alias Golu of Butah village after an FIR was registered on July 15 under Sections 304, 307, and 3(5) of the BNS.
