Jaipur, Oct. 4 -- Eight people, including children, were injured in a violent clash at Mehtabgarh Sahib gurdwara at Goluwala in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district on Friday, amid a long-standing dispute over the shrine's management. According to police, around 100 individuals allegedly attempted to forcibly enter the gurdwara premises early in the morning, leading to a confrontation with the rival faction inside. The injured were first taken to a local hospital and later referred to Sri Ganganagar district hospital. Their condition is said to be stable. Additional SP Janesh Tanwar confirmed the deployment of police and Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) personnel. One RAC jawan was also injured while trying to intervene. To prevent further escalation, prohibitory orders have been imposed in the area. Two FIRs have been filed at Goluwala police station against 17 named and several unidentified persons. Three individuals have been detained for questioning. Locals accused the previous committee, led by Bibi Harmeet Kaur, of mismanagement and demanded the formation of a new administrative body. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Friday condemned the attack carried out by some individuals at Gurdwara Mehtabgarh Sahib in Mandi Goluwala, Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. He urged the government to take immediate and strict action against those responsible.In a statement issued from the SGPC office, Dhami said according to the information received, this was a premeditated attack that the Sikh community will never tolerate. He stated that the attackers brutally assaulted Sikhs sleeping inside the Gurdwara Sahib, leaving several people, including small children, seriously injured. Dhami expressed concern that such an incident occurred in the presence of the police. Dhami remarked that certain elements are attempting to create divisions in society for their own political gain, which is not in the interest of the nation. He asserted that such acts cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. He has urged the CM of Rajasthan to take immediate action in this matter and ensure exemplary punishment for the culprits....
