700 kg of cattle meat seized in Nuh, 9 booked
Gurugram, July 24 -- Acting on a tip-off, Nuh police raided a house in Rithath village late Monday night, seizing over 700 kilograms of cattle meat, severed cattle limbs, motorcycles, and tools allegedly used in illegal cattle slaughter. A case was registered at Pingwan police station on Tuesday.
The crackdown, led by the district's cow protection task force, has brought renewed attention to the scale of illegal cattle slaughter in the region, and the police say it could be part of a larger network operating across south Haryana.
The suspects have been identified as Wakki alias Vakeel and Mohammad Nadeem, a father-son duo from Rithath village, along with others from Akera and Mewli villages.
They have been booked under sections of the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act, 2015, which prohibits cow slaughter and related activities in an FIR registered on Tuesday at Pingwan police station.
The seized meat has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory and results are awaited. htc...
