7,000 steps a day can boost health
India, July 25 -- For those who struggle to hit the widely recommended target of 10,000 steps a day, a new study published in The Lancet Public Health offers good news. Based on data from 1.6 lakh adults, the research found that walking just 7,000 steps a day can reduce the risk of early death. Researchers say this lower target is more achievable, especially for less active individuals, and is still associated with a reduced risk of major health conditions such as cancer, dementia, and heart disease.
