68 peddlers arrested, 2.2 kg of heroin seized
Chandigarh, Nov. 18 -- Punjab's anti-drug campaign, "Yudh Nashian Virudh", marked its 261st day on Monday, with police conducting 313 raids across the state. The operations led to the arrest of 68 drug smugglers and the registration of 57 FIRs. With this, the total number of drug smugglers arrested under the campaign has reached 36,969. Police recovered 2.2 kg of heroin, 500 gm of opium, 11 kg of poppy husk, 2,168 intoxicant pills, and Rs.1.88 lakh in drug money.
Over 1,000 police personnel in 120 teams carried out the raids and also checked 335 suspicious persons during the day-long operation....
