PATNA, Nov. 26 -- Six people were killed and seven others were injured after a speeding truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw on Sheikhpura-Sikandra highway in Bihar on Tuesday, police said, adding that the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled after the accident. Chief minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep condolences over the incident. Police said that the accident took place around 1pm when an auto-rickshaw carrying 13 persons collided with a truck on the national highway. While six people died, seven received injuries and were taken for treatment to Vardhman Medical College and Hospital in Pawapuri. Four injured persons are said to be in critical condition "At the time of the accident, both vehicles were traveling at a speed of around 80 km per hour when they collided," said a police officer. He said some of the injured persons were rushed to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared five persons dead on arrival while one more succumbed during treatment, added the police officer. An injured passenger said, "The auto was carrying more passengers than its capacity. As soon as it hit the truck, five passengers were flung onto the road.
