Chandigarh, Oct. 28 -- As many as 56 drug smugglers were arrested on the 240th day of the Punjab government's anti-drug campaign 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' on Monday. As many as 51 FIRs were registered as the Punjab Police conducted raids at 280 locations across the state, officials said. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested since the beginning of the campaign has reached to 34,275. The raids have resulted in the recovery of 2-kg heroin, 14-kg poppy husk, 231 intoxicating tablets and capsules and Rs.7,800 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.
