Chandigarh, Feb. 20 -- Haryana health authorities screened more than 12.40 lakh people for HIV including 5.65 lakh pregnant women in the current financial year. Stating this, additional chief secretary, health, Sumita Misra on Thursday said of the 12,40,205 people screened for HIV between April 2025 and January 2026, 5,877 were found positive. Misra said 613 pregnant women tested positive were provided timely treatment. Misra said the state was currently running 104 Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres, all offering free and confidential services. The ACS said Haryana had expanded its Anti-Retroviral Therapy through 24 ART centres. Thirteen of these have been newly established within medical colleges, bringing advanced care closer to patients who might otherwise have had to travel long distances.
