New Delhi, May 23 -- The Union ministry of housing and urban affairs (MoHUA) announced 4% reservation for persons with disabilities in the allotment of government housing under the general pool residential accommodation (GPRA) category on Thursday. A statement released by MoHUA said that an office memorandum by the Directorate of Estates has been issued in alignment with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act after the "landmark" decision taken by Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who heads MoHUA.
