Karnal, Oct. 26 -- Haryana continues to reel under bad air quality for the fifth straight day with four cities in the "very poor" category on Saturday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), five cities in the country recorded "very poor" AQI. Fatehabad has now become the most polluted city in the country, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) at 329, followed by Noida (324) in Uttar Pradesh and Bahadurgarh (324) in Jhajjar district. The industrial town on the outskirts of the national capital, Dharuhera in Rewari district also continues to register polluted air for nearly a week now and was last recorded at 307. The AQI of another industrial town, Panipat, has now entered the "red zone " and was recorded at 306. Several cities in Haryana recorded "poor" air quality with Jind at 293, Charkhi Dadri (292), Manesar (291), Kaithal (283), Ballabgarh (245), Gurugram (234), Yamunanagar (226) and Sonepat at 214. In Punjab, Bathinda recorded an AQI of 227, Ludhiana 206, Jalandhar 158, Khanna 144, Amritsar 126, Patiala 122 and Rupnagar 153. Delhi's air quality showed a slight improvement on Saturday morning, with the AQI in "poor" category at 261, marking a drop from the 290 recorded a day before, CPCB data showed. According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'. The minimum temperature settled at 16.9 degrees Celsius in the capital, 0.3 notch below normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The humidity level stood at 57% at 8.30 am.
