Mohali, Dec. 1 -- A 30-year-old youth was killed after being run over by a private bus near Phase 3A in Mohali on Sunday. The victim, Rohit, a native of Kangra, had been living in Kajjeri and was employed in the private sector in Mohali. According to the police, initial probe suggests that Rohit was attempting to overtake the bus on his two-wheeler around 10 am when he lost balance and came under its wheels. Passers-by informed the police, following which a team from the Mataur station responded to the scene and began inquiry. SI Ankit said the driver managed to flee the spot before police arrived. "We are working on tracing him," he said. Police are scanning CCTV footage from the stretch to confirm the sequence of events. The body has been sent for post-mortem and police have initiated further legal proceedings. Rohit's family has been informed.HTC...
