Ferozepur, Jan. 5 -- A joint team of the drugs control department and the police carried out raids on three unlicenced warehouses in Ferozepur city, leading to the seizure of a massive quantity of controlled pharmaceutical drugs, said officials. The raids were carried out in the local Krishna Nagri area and Mohalla Baweyan Wala, by Ferozepur drugs control officer Sonia Gupta, Faridkot drugs control officer Harjinder Singh, Ferozepur naib tehsildar Priya Rani, along with the Ferozepur city police, they said in a release, adding that the teams inspected three godowns allegedly operating without mandatory licences. Sonia Gupta said that during the inspection, officials recovered large quantities of pregabalin and tapentadol-both classified as regulated medicines due to their potential for abuse. As per officials, the seizure included 1,41,900 tablets, 3,64,230 capsules and 140 kits of various formulations. The seized stock was taken into custody, and FIRs was registered against the persons involved. "Such enforcement drives will continue with full strictness," drugs control officer said....
