3 terrorists neutralisedin Pulwama encounter
Srinagar, May 16 -- Security Forces, in a joint operation on Thursday gunned down three terrorists in Pulwama disrict's Tral area during a gunfight in Nader village.
The army has identified the terrorists as Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani and Yawar Ahmed Bhat, from whom three AK-series rifles, twelve magazines, three grenades and various other war like stores have been recovered.
This was the second encounter in south Kashmir in last 48 hours. On Tuesday the forces had neutralised three local Lashkar-e-Taiba and TRF terrorists, including the operational commander of LeT.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Nader Tral area of Awantipora in the south Kashmir district after receiving specific inputs about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said. "Three #terrorists have been neutralised in the Tral #encounter. Identification and affiliation being ascertained. Search operation in progress. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Police had written on X.
Inspector general of police Vidhi Kumar Birdi also visited the encounter site.
"Security forces had got specific input about the terrorists in the area and accordingly a cordon and search operation was launched and in the heavy exchange of fire three terrorists were killed," the IGP said.
According to officials in know of the matter, the trio was affiliated with Jaish e Mohammad group who have been active 2021 onwards.
On Tuesday, security forces had killed three terrorists at Keller forests in Shopian.
The three were identified by the army as Shahid Ahmad Kuttay, of Heerpora in Shopian, Adnan Shafi Dar from Vanduna Melhura area of Shopian and Ehsan ul Haq Sheikh, of Murran area of the Pulwama district....
