3 Men Brutally Assault Stray Dog in Sec-38 Shop Brawl
Chandigarh, Dec. 14 -- A stray dog was left seriously injured after being attacked during a violent brawl at a grocery shop in Sector 38, Chandigarh.
The incident occurred around 7 pm on December 9 and was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the shop.
As per the shop owner, Lakshya, a disagreement between two customers over the unavailability of a grocery item quickly turned into a physical fight inside the shop.
Amid the chaos, a stray dog that usually rests outside the shop and is regularly fed by the shopkeeper, intervened and began barking.
Reportedly angered by the dog's barking, one of the men, along with two associates, attacked the animal with a rod, inflicting serious injuries near its eye and leaving it bleeding.
The injured dog was later noticed by social worker and animal welfare activist Simran Bani, who rushed to the location after being informed by a passerby.
She arranged veterinary care and shifted the dog to a private hospital in Sector 24, where doctors gave 13 stitches and managed to save the animal's eye.
The Sector 39 police detained three persons after examining the CCTV footage. Further proceedings are underway....
