Kapurthala, Nov. 20 -- Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested three members of Jagga Fukiwal extortion gang in Kapurthala, seizing nine countrymade pistols in the operation. The accused have been identified as Amandeep Singh of Tashpur in Sultanpur Lodhi, Harjit Singh of Khanpur Dhadha village in Nakodar, and Lovepreet alias Baba of Mohalla Baghichi in Jamsher, Jalandhar. The gang is believed to be active around Sultanpur Lodhi and involved in supplying weapons to local gangs for extortion and firing incidents, Punjab director general of police, Gaurav Yadav, said. "Four pistols were recovered from Amandeep Singh during his arrest. Preliminary investigations revealed that he had allegedly supplied two pistols to Lovepreet Singh, who was later arrested," the DGP added. Kapurthala SSP Gaurav Toora said that police also recovered a .32-bore and a .315-bore country-made pistol along with two live rounds from Lovepreet. Further interrogation led to the recovery of three more pistols. A case has been registered at Sadar police station in Kapurthala. "Investigations have revealed that the accused were sourcing countrymade weapons from Madhya Pradesh under instructions from a foreign-based handler to supply to local criminal elements," the SSP added....
